Ashes: Australia beat England in second Test

Australia defeated England on the fourth day of the second Ashes Test match. England started the match at the Gabba on the fourth day at 134 for 6 and needed 43 more runs to avoid an innings defeat. Captain Ben Stokes and Will Jacks were at the crease, who scored 59 runs by the tea break, giving the team a 16-run lead.

However, after the tea break, Ben Stokes was dismissed for 50 and Will Jacks for 41. The entire England team was bowled out for 241. For Australia, Michael Nasser took 5, Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland took 2 each, while Brendan Doggett took one wicket.

Australia was given a target of 65 runs to win, which they achieved for the loss of 2 wickets. Travis Head was dismissed for 22 and Jack Weatherall for 17. Captain Steve Smith was not out on 23 and Marnus Labuschagne on 3. It should be remembered that yesterday, Zac Crawley was out on 44, Ollie Pope on 26, Ben Duckett, Joe Root and Harry Brooke on 15, 15, while Jamie Smith was out on 4.

Earlier, Australia had scored 511 runs in their first innings, taking a lead of 177 runs over England. For England, Brydon Carse took 4, captain Ben Stokes 3, while Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson and Will Jacks took one wicket each. England were all out for 334 in their first innings. Joe Root remained unbeaten on 138. For Australia, Mitchell Starc took 6, while Michael Nesser, Brendan Doggett and Scott Boland took one wicket each.
