What Is The Best Age To Get Married? Find Out The Results Of A New Study

If someone asked you what the best age to get married is, what would you say? The truth is that there is no simple answer to this question because every person is different and it is not possible to determine a single ideal age for marriage.

But when it comes to mental health, not getting married after a certain age affects the mind. A study by the University of Zurich in Switzerland examined data from three research reports on more than 17,000 young people.

At the beginning of these research reports, these people were 16 years old and their mental health was assessed for about 30 years. The study found that staying away from marriage after a certain age affects life satisfaction, loneliness and depression symptoms can occur and it gets worse with each passing year.

The study found that single people at the age of 16 or 17 have very good mental health and a greater sense of happiness. At the age of 18, life satisfaction among single people starts to decrease, but this is not significant. At the age of 19, loneliness starts to be felt more and this feeling starts to increase with each passing year.

If there is no marriage, then after the age of 24, the process of mental health decline accelerates and becomes more noticeable. The feeling of loneliness increases rapidly, the decrease in life satisfaction continues, while symptoms of depression gradually begin to appear.

However, the symptoms of depression are not very serious in the beginning and according to researchers, the feeling of loneliness comes first and then emotional health gradually starts to be affected. At the age of 29, the feeling of loneliness peaks and the severity of depression symptoms increases.

According to researchers, if you want to get married, at least the age of 25 to 26 is the best for good mental health, after which the feeling of loneliness increases rapidly and depression may occur. The results of this study were published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
